Maintenance of Box Furnace

2025-09-16 15:14

1. When using a box furnace for the first time or after an extended period of disuse, bake it at approximately 120°C for one hour and at approximately 300°C for two hours before use to prevent cracking of the furnace chamber. The furnace temperature must not exceed the rated temperature to avoid damage to the heating elements and furnace lining. Do not directly pour liquids or molten metals into the furnace chamber. Keep the furnace clean.

2. If silicon-molybdenum rods are used as heating elements in the furnace, due to their physical properties, they are very brittle at room temperature. Therefore, the furnace body must not be disassembled or moved after the heating elements are installed.

3. When using a cold furnace, since the furnace chamber is cold and requires a large amount of heat absorption, the low-temperature heating rate should not be too rapid, and the heating rate differences between the various temperature sections should not be too large. When setting the heating rate, fully consider the physical and chemical properties of the sintering material to avoid material spraying and furnace chamber contamination.

4. Regularly check the electrical connections of the temperature control system for proper contact, paying particular attention to the tightness of the connections at the heating element.

5. When used as heating elements, silicon-molybdenum rods should not be operated in the 400-700°C temperature range for extended periods, as this will cause low-temperature oxidation.

6. When used as heating elements, silicon-carbon rods will gradually increase in resistance over time. This phenomenon is called "aging." After a chamber furnace has been in operation for a period of time, aging of the silicon-carbon rods can cause the furnace's heating rate and ideal temperature to fall below their original values. Please adjust the OPH value appropriately and observe the ammeter's main current for the appropriate level. If individual components are damaged for some reason and need to be replaced, select a component with an appropriate resistance based on the resistance increase of other components at the time. Do not replace components arbitrarily. If components are severely damaged or their resistance increases excessively, making it impossible to achieve the desired furnace temperature, it is best to replace all components with new ones.

7. During operation, generally between 200°C and 300°C, if control deviation persists and the displayed temperature does not match the programmed value or fluctuates excessively, please check the correct settings for parameters "M5, P."

8. Using a B-type high-temperature double platinum-rhodium (30%-6%) thermocouple, the measurement accuracy is 0.5 level at 0-600°C and 0.2 level at 600-1700°C. Using an S-type single platinum-rhodium thermocouple, the measurement accuracy is guaranteed to be 0.2 level.

9. This furnace is suitable for the following working conditions:

(1) The ambient temperature is between -10~75°C.

(2) The relative humidity of the surrounding environment does not exceed 85%.

(3) There is no conductive dust, explosive gas, or corrosive gas that seriously damages metal and insulating materials around the box furnace.

(4) There is no obvious tilt, vibration, or bump.

10. Under the conditions of complying with the storage, use, installation, and transportation regulations, if the product is damaged and cannot work properly due to quality problems within 12 months from the date of shipment from our company, our company will provide users with free service for the entire machine (except for man-made damage). After the warranty period expires, our company will continue to provide paid lifetime maintenance according to user requirements.

(The heating element is a consumable part and is not covered by the warranty)
